5th Grade Social Studies:
Today was “LAX Day.” Lacrosse is a game deeply embedded in Iroquois culture. Students learned about the history of the game, traditional stick making and then got to try their hands at it. The Native American chapter is a pretty popular one!

Students in Grades 3–6 had the opportunity to meet Miss Nebraska, Makinzie Gregory, and hear her inspiring message about setting goals and chasing your dreams! She shared the importance of being a mentor — and finding someone who can help keep you on the right path.

Students learned about utilizing shutter speed on a DSLR camera. With different settings they were asked to freeze motion, blur motion, capture something panning or draw with light painting.

Students are using spring cars, weights and a measuring tape to test how different masses affect the distance a car can travel. They will graph the results and answer lab questions related to Newton’s Laws.
