Elementary HAL:
Last week students used protractors to measure and draw angles. Real snowflakes have a hexagon-shape (60-degree interior angle triangles). Students used toothpicks and marshmallows to create snowflakes that meet real criteria.

The @PCS_Pride JH and HS Quiz Bowl Teams kicked off their seasons with an in-house scrimmage. All members got in 5 rounds of competition. The JH Team is coached by Mrs. Wood. The HS Team is coached by Mrs. Bishop.

4th Grade Science:
Mrs. Cunningham’s students are learning about sedimentary rocks. They read about the steps to a sedimentary rock forming, recorded the steps, then made models of sedimentary rocks. This is part of the @AmplifyScience unit on Earth Features.
Psst…and yes, we still teach cursive writing in school. 😊
6th Grade Science:
Mrs. McCord’s students tackled a real-world problem by analyzing evidence and sorting it into Claim 1 and Claim 2. After choosing a claim to support, they selected strong evidence, organized their thinking using the Reasoning Tool, and wrapped it all up by writing a final scientific argument.
Earlier this year, 3rd grade students learned about the human body in a CKLA reading unit. Today they ventured to the Jr/Sr HS where Mrs. Mosel gave them a human body lesson using the Anatomage table. Then they used microscopes to look at hair, skin, muscle and bone cells.

Due to cold temperatures and high winds, the PCS Speech Team will not be traveling to the meet in Scottsbluff on Saturday, Jan. 17, 2026.

Tonight's HS BBB and GBB games at Wauneta have been postponed (due to wind / travel) to a date and time TBD.
There will no activities nor practices of any kind after school, today. HS BB athletes are expected to be in class for the remainder of the school day.
